ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Pharm – Bachelor in Pharmacy (4 years – 8 semesters)

  • For the first-year Pharm course, the candidate must have passed 10+2 or PUC or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with 40% in PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) or PCM / PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) as optional subjects individually.
  • Lateral entry to the third semester (3 Years – 6 semesters) needs a person to have completed a D.Pharm course from an institution approved by PCI.

B.Pharm – Overview

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is an under graduate course in the field of Pharmacy. The Diploma in Pharmacy is able to meet the requirements of community and hospital stores only partly. The degree program (BPharm) is developed to address all other demands of the profession of pharmacy. However, BPharm education today is facing the challenge of meeting the changing needs the of industry.

Pharmacy field is mainly concerns with the preparation and dispensing of drugs and medicines. It is a course of 4 years duration. B.Pharm course will cover a syllabus including health care and biochemical science. The program covers practical experiments along with theory classes. The candidate with a degree in Pharmacy has a great career ahead. They are assured of good salary packages also. They can also go for their higher studies including Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Master of Business Administration etc. Thus, the four-year B Pharm course offered by SLES COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, is prepared considering the needs of the industry, which gives more impetus for skill development. So, B.Pharm graduates can do the different roles as:

  • Industrial Pharmacist: Pharmacists are engaged in the Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the preparation of the dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules, and sterile solutions for injection.
  • Sales and Distribution executive: This includes detailing to doctors/physicians about the effectiveness of medications. They also engaged with the detailing to bulk distribution pharmaceuticals. .
  • Academic Pharmacist: Teaching students of Diploma in Pharmacy and training students of Bachelor of Pharmacy. .
  • Higher education: B.Pharmacy graduates can upgrade their educational qualification through pursuing courses like M.Pharm, and MBA.
  • Pharmacist: Government hospitals, railway pharmacy,
  • Hospital and Community Pharmacist: This service includes dispensing of medicines and providing counselling for the usage of drugs to the patients.
  • Pharmacist’s managers: Pharmacists work with physicians, patients, and health care providers to ensure effective treatments.
  • Railway Pharmacist: Managing pharmaceutical supplies and services for railway employees and passengers.
  • Armed Forces Medical Stores Depot (AFMSD) Pharmacist: Handling pharmaceutical inventory and distribution in military medical facilities.
  • Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs): Some PSUs in the pharmaceutical sector might offer roles in production, quality control, research, and more.
  • Municipal Corporation Pharmacist: Providing pharmaceutical care and services in municipal healthcare facilities.
  • State Medical Services: Pharmacist roles in state-level medical departments and health programs.

Examination :( SEMESTER WISE)

  • Internal Examination
    There will be two internal exam in theory & practical during the semester in college and average of best two marks will be considered for semester exam.
  • University Examination
    Exam will be conducted by RGUHS in semester pattern twice every year tentatively in the months of December and June.
  • Training/Internship
    After having appeared in the exam of VII semester the candidate must undergo 150 hours of practical training in Hospital / Dispensary / Pharmacy/Industry recognised by Apex body.
